What a Beautiful Life I Lead!

I recently came across THIS ARTICLE talking about Paris shifting from a "Left/Right Bank" mindset to an East/West mindset.  The section about East Paris perfectly highlights my favorite little neighborhood, the Canal Saint Martin area in which I live.  Not only does it mention quite a few of my favorite restaurants and parks, but it also mentions Bob's Juice Bar!  I love the fact that I can relate to this woman in her views on Paris.  It isn't so Black and White as people seem to think, with the artsy left and the business-minded right.  The perfect example of the opposition to this would be the 10th, full of hippie, artsy musicians rubbing shoulders with some of the most executive business officials in Paris at a variety of the best restaurants in Paris.  The 10th offers it all, and I am so lucky to have called this my home for the last 7 months.

Chez Prune, just a block behind my house.

My favorite view of the Canal Saint Martin
And now with the warm weather, this is the only view of the Canal.  People picnicing with wine, beer, cheese, baguette, so fun!
The local hospital has a big courtyard in the middle, which they have turned into a children's park.  Everyday after school the area is filled with kids running around and playing futbol, while all the moms, dads, and nannies sit and watch.  My favorite.

Boulangerie behind my house that was voted the best boulangerie in Paris in 2007.

Le Metro

Place de la Republique

Sidewalk Marche's everywhere you look.

Gare du Nord Train Station

Mairie du Paris-10eme.  10th Arrondissement City Hall.

Rue Rene Boulanger, my favorite street on my walk to Ally's house.
Ending at this arch, which used to be the old Paris Gates.

  1. Kinda cool to read an article like that in a foreign country and be familiar with a lot of what was written? And Bob's Juice Bar, trippy. Didn't we have drinks at Chez Prune?
